This spring’s Lit Conversation we will focus on four remarkable female authors and their pivotal works. We will discuss their role as social commentaries (Age of Innocence, Emma), as boundary redefining works on gender, sexuality and nonconformity (Nightwood), and as memoirs on abandonment, strength and family bonds (Like Family). Once a month, participants will be invited to come together to discuss these books and reflect on their reading journey. Guiding questions will begin the discussions with a focus on the above-mentioned themes. Come join us for an interesting literary evening in which we will suspend preconceptions, ask questions, and listen for understanding.

June: Paula McLain, Like Family: Growing up in Other People’s Houses
July: Djuna Barnes, Nightwood
